Brianna Dozier

I had the dream of being a hair stylist since I was a little girl. After practicing on sisters and barbies, I got my cosmetology license throughout high school years while apprenticing in a local salon. I received my license in 2010, and have been doing hair ever since. In the span of the eight years of being in the beauty industry, I have gone through countless furthering education classes that include advanced hair cutting techniques with Brocato in New York City and J Beverly Hills in California, color training with Framesis master color artists, as well as Up-styling and Men's hair cutting classes, and much more. I specialize in design cutting, Balayage hair color technique, and up styles for formal events. I am a make-up artist as well, in which I use for a lot of wedding packages on and off site. I am most passionate about transformations and the relationships formed in my chair. I love hearing people's stories and creating a look that is perfectly tailored for his or her unique lifestyle. They say when you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I would tell you I am working my dream job!

Mindy Taylor

Owner and Stylist

I began my career as an apprentice in 2003, then received my cosmetology license in 2005.  Since then I have continued my education in texturizing, coloring, and cutting the latest styles and trends.  Throughout the last fourteen years I have completed several product knowledge courses with Caviar, Alterna, Framesi, Daviness, Brocato, J Beverly Hills, Pureology, and Big and Sexy.  I have also traveled to Orlando, Charlotte, Ocean City, Newport News, Hampton, and Richmond to continue my education in the cosmetology profession.  I completed a yearlong color education course thru Framesi and became a Master Colorist.  I continued my training by attending a hair-cutting academy at J Beverly Hills in Los Angeles in 2007.  In 2008, I was certified in Bio-Ionic and Matrix and became a texturizing specialist.  I then attended the Brocato Hair Academy in Soho, New York in 2010, where I learned the latest trends and texturizing techniques from Sam Brocato himself.  In 2012 and 2014, I traveled to Richmond for another J Beverly Hills cutting and texturizing course.  After a lot of hard work, in 2015 I opened my own hair salon where I will continue my education.

I began my career in 1996 at the age of 23 where I attended Rudy and Kelly Academy and
completed my training at the former Wards Corner Beauty Academy where I graduated with
honors. For the last 23 years have been cultivating my profession and building my lucrative
clientele at a European hair salon in the Tidewater Area. Over the last 23 years, I have trained
at the Framesi Academy for color certification as well as received knowledge classes on Matrix and Goldwell color lines. I have gone to countless cutting classes both hands on and observing, learning new skills of scissor and razor cutting. I am also certified in Brazilian Blowout as well as Keratin Complex. I have also traveled countless times to New York and Chicago to attend hair shows and observed classes in cutting, color and styling long hair. I believe experience gives you knowledge and after 25 years, I have attained a lot of knowledge that I share with my fellow stylists just as I have learned from them. I believe the best results come from being a team that feeds each other. I love all colors whether it’s all over or multidimensional as well as cutting a style that brings the clients best features out. And my absolute favorite is always a good challenge: fixing someone’s hair that is not right. What an awesome feeling it is to see a client so happy they have tears in their eyes because you have just made them feel beautiful and confident again. I think if you ask any hairdresser, they would say that moments like that are what makes what we do so special to us. You may ask why I am moving to a salon after that many years? Well I am in the process of getting married and moving my teenage twin boys and myself to Williamsburg. My goal is to meet new clients and build a lucrative business here in Williamsburg. I will be working between here and my other salon as I build my business here at Studio M. My ultimate goal is to transition full time to Studio M. I am so excited to start this chapter and meet some amazing new clients in Williamsburg!! I hope to see you soon!!

My love for hair design started as a child and continued through my high school years. At the age of 16 I attended a 3-week Cosmetology Course in Indiapolis, IN. This is where my passion for designing beautiful hair grew stronger. After high school I started a 3 year Apprenticeship, which I finished through Salon Vivace. For the past 10 years I have been employed as a stylist in Williamsburg. I have been Certified in the Brazilian blowout treatment, attended many hair shows, completed hands on cutting classes and trained under many talented stylists. I can't say enough about how much I love my job. Transformation makeovers, everyday styles, and color corrections- I love it all. I am constantly learning new techniques, color trends and keeping up with current styles to provide my clients with the most up to date services.

I have always loved the hair and beauty industry. I first started working in a salon when I was 17 years old as an assistant where I grew to love it even more. I did an 18 month apprenticeship and decided I wanted to go and further my education at Rudy and Kelly Academy, a Paul Mitchell partner school. There I was exposed to everyday cutting and coloring techniques and platform work. I attended education classes at a hair trade show in Baltimore and several specialty classes since then. I am certified in Brazilian Blowout and I specialize in balayage hair painting. My goal is to always go above and beyond in making each of my client's visit to the salon an experience. I am always up to date with new trends and am always looking for a challenge. Giving people the confidence and look they want is what I take pride in and exactly why I love my job!
